GEOGRAPHY

Windsor, Colorado, is a home rule municipality city in Larimer and Weld Counties, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. It’s located about 50 miles north of Denver. Windsor is located in the northern Colorado region.

The United States Census Bureau reports that Windsor Co has a total area of 25.6 square miles (66 square kilometers), of which 24.33 square miles (63 square kilometers) are land, and 1.27 square miles (3 square kilometers) are water. The Cache la Poudre River runs through the west and south sides of town.

What to do in Windsor Co

Windsor Art and Heritage Center

Harvest Festival in Windsor, Colorado

Windsor is one of the oldest towns in northern Colorado, and its Harvest Festival is a great way to get to know it. Founded in 1874 as a mining town, Windsor was initially called “The Colony.” The festival kicks off with a parade on Labor Day weekend and continues through the rest of the month.
