It’s a town in Larimer Counties. Near Johnstown are Greeley Co which is ten miles to the east-northeast, and Loveland which is approximately nine miles northwest of Johnstown.
It is home to the Rocky Mountain National Park and it is also close to Estes Park.

FISHING:
Johnstown Reservoir
The reservoir was created between 1879 and 1889 by damming up Clear Creek, which runs through Johnstown town. The reservoir was built to provide agricultural irrigation for farms along the South Platte River, but it also has recreational uses today.
The fishing here is excellent! You can catch trout, bass, bluegill, and more fish species. Many trees provide shade for those who want to spend time on the shoreline.
Many activities are available at this reservoir, including swimming, sailing, and boating. There are also picnic areas where you can bring your food or buy it from vendors on-site. Hiking trails and campsites are also available at various locations around the lake.
HIKING:
Thompson River Ranch Park
Thompson River Ranch Park is an excellent place for hiking and sightseeing. It is also one of their best tourist attractions. The park is located at the base of Hwy 285, which runs from Johnstown to Woodland Park. It has a large parking area, restrooms, picnic tables, and grills. The trailhead is located at the back end of the parking lot near the bathrooms; signs are posted to direct you to the trailhead.
The park features many hiking trails, including the 2.5-mile course to the top of Mount Evans. This hike is well worth the trip, and it’s one of the most popular hikes in Colorado—and for a good reason!

MAY: Cinco de Mayo Festival
The Cinco de Mayo festival is held on a Saturday in May every year in Johnstown Co. The festival celebrates the Mexican victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
The celebration started as a small-town parade with just a few floats and local marching bands. It has since grown into a major event that draws thousands of people from all over Colorado.
JUNE – OCTOBER: Johnstown Milliken Farmer’s Market
The Johnstown Milliken Farmer’s Market is a beautiful place to get fresh produce and shop for local goods.
The market offers everything from fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and eggs to cheeses, bread, crafts, and even homemade dog treats. With over 30 vendors offering their products every Friday evening, there is something for everyone.
JULY: Johnstown BBQ Day
The annual BBQ Day festival attracts thousands of people from all over northern Colorado and even from other states. The event has become so popular that it’s now held every year on July 4th weekend.

The Johnstown Fall Festival is a beloved annual event in the small town of Johnstown, Colorado. The festival kicks off on the first Saturday of September and lasts until the following Sunday. The festival is held in Johnstown Park, which includes a large grassy area and a playground for kids, as well as several picnic areas with grills and tables.
The festival has been running since 1978 when it was started by several of the town’s residents who wanted to bring people together for an event celebrating fall. It was held in a different park each year until 1986 when it found its current home at Johnstown Park. The festival features live music performances from local musicians and bands, as well as food trucks with delicious options for hungry attendees. There are also games for kids and adults alike—the main attraction being a huge inflatable obstacle course that everyone can enjoy!

If you’re looking for a spooky good time, head to Trick or Treat Street in Johnstown Co. It’s a neighborhood with houses decorated and lit up for Halloween, and it’s a treat for the whole family.
This street is such a popular destination that people come from all over the state to see it. It runs from October 1st through Halloween night every year.
